Inland Fishing: The Canal & The ICW

If the ocean is too rough or you just want a quieter experience, the "backside" of the island offers incredible inshore fishing.

• Davis Canal: This long, winding waterway runs parallel to the beach and is teeming with Flounder and Red Drum. It is arguably the best spot on the island for kayak fishing because the water is glass-calm.

• Malcolm Register Park: For a hidden gem that most tourists miss, head to NE 52nd St. on the Intracoastal Waterway.
