Our Journey Started in 2014
While visiting his grandfather on Oak Island, our founder Nathan Reich wanted to rent a paddle board. Upon not finding a single place that offered delivery, he realized vacationers were missing something crucial: Convenience. PaddleOKI was born.
PaddleOKI launched with a simple goal: bring the gear directly to the customer. Starting with SUPs and kayaks, the inventory quickly grew to include bikes and beach chairs, locals started referring to him around the island as the “kayak guy” and the “bike man.”
Embracing our local reputation, we officially rebranded in 2017 to Mr. Beach Rentals and expanded our service area to cover all the Brunswick Beaches. Today, our dedicated team runs daily routes to bring extraordinary convenience to your vacation.

Nathan combined his NC State tourism degree with his childhood love for Oak Island to create Mr. Beach Rentals. Once known around town simply as the "kayak guy," he is passionate about leading a team that makes your family vacation completely effortless.

Marc is the engine that keeps our daily delivery routes running smoothly across the islands. He ensures every piece of equipment is perfectly prepped and delivered on time. When he isn’t coordinating our trucks, you can usually find him in the garage turning wrenches on his Mini Cooper.

After a long career selling sandpaper, Stacy retired to the coast and now specializes in making sure our beach cruisers ride perfectly smooth. He spends a few days a week keeping our bicycle fleet in top shape for your family, and the rest of his time out on the water chasing the local catch.

Monday through Friday, David works as a skilled metal fabricator. But when the summer weekends hit, he happily trades the shop for the coastal sunshine. David joins our Saturday and Sunday routes just to get some fresh air, doing all the heavy lifting so your family can start relaxing the moment you arrive.

Jeff knows a thing or two about hard work. As a former insulation contractor, he spent years army-crawling under houses before deciding he much preferred hauling beach gear in the coastal sunshine. He is an essential part of our logistics team, ensuring your bikes, boards, and chairs arrive flawlessly at your rental home.

He spends his summers doing all the heavy lifting for our vacationers, ensuring your bikes and boards arrive flawlessly so your only homework is to relax.
