Malcolm Register Park: For a hidden gem that most tourists miss, head to NE 52nd St. on the Intracoastal Waterway. On the Beach or Inland: YES. In North Carolina, anyone 16 or older is required to have a Coastal Recreational Fishing License (CRFL) to fish from the surf, the sound, or the bank. You can buy these easily online from the NC Wildlife Resources Commission or at local bait shops (and Walmart).
